The technology division of Wilson, Washburn & Forster is headed by Andrew Cohn.
Andrew graduated from the University of Miami. Andrew specializes in writing insurance for technology companies and marine companies. He has been published by The Insurance Journal, Website Magazine and The Pinecrest Tribune. Andrew regularly updates his blog at http://andycohn.blogspot.com. Andrew will also be speaking at the Internet Dating Conference in Miami, January 2009, about Contingent Bodily Injury Insurance for Internet Dating Websites. Andrew is the Vice President of the Pinecrest Chapter of Business Networking International. He also serves on the membership committee, development committee and the 20s and 30s committee at Temple Beth Am and he serves on the Real Estate Speaker Series and The Network: 20s Committee for the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Andrew is also a member of The West Kendall Business Association and is involved with Next Miami, Refresh Miami and the MIT Enterprise Forum.

Tom Washburn, CPCU
CEO and Managing Principal
With more than 30 years experience in the insurance industry, Tom is a well-respected and active member of the South Florida business community. His professional designations include Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), and Associate in Marine Insurance Management. He is a past president of the CPCU Society of South Florida and Director of the Independent Insurance Agents of Dade County (IIADC), a 27-year Rotarian and a current Trustee member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA) and recently won the IIADC Raymond Butler Passion Award.
Richard Forster, CPCU
Of Counsel
Although officially retired, Richard continues to maintain a significant presence at the agency. Bringing more than 40 years experience to the Agency, he is an important source of knowledge and guidance to the next generation of agents at Wilson, Washburn and Forster. Richard holds the designation of CPCU and is a past president of the CPCU Society of South Florida, and a Director of the IIADC. He was appointed to the Insurance Commissioner’s General Lines Agents Advisory Committee, served the United States as a Captain in the US Air Force Reserves and is a Trustee of Temple Judea in Coral Gables.
Joseph R. LLanes, CLU
Account Executive
Joseph has more than 25 years of experience working as an insurance agent in both New York and Florida and has an undisputed commitment to professionalism and service in the insurance field. His areas of specialty include the very difficult fields of medical malpractice and social service. He was appointed by Governor Bush to the Florida Local Advocacy Council for Developmental Disabilities and holds the professional designation Chartered Life Undwerwriter (CLU).
Phil Yanan

A member of the team since 2001, Phil is an active industry leader, serving as Secretary/Treasurer of the IIADC and a member of Florida’s Future Insurance Leaders – an FAIA program. In 2006 he was the founding Chair of the Miami Young Agents Committee and has helped grow the organization to more than 100 members. He is also active with the ALS recovery fund. Phil’s area of specialty is food manufacturers, wholesalers, retail, catering and restaurants
Sarah Washburn

After attending Florida State University for both her bachelor's and master's degree, she interned at General Motors on the global sales and marketing team. After a successful 3.5 year run with General Motors, Sarah accepted a position with the family business in 2003. She enjoys the challenges of helping community businesses with all their insurance needs. She is dedicated to representing excellent insurance companies and providing honest service.
For the past 4 years, Sarah focused on growing her insurance book of business while giving back to the community. In 2008, Sarah was the Chair of the “Taste of Pinecrest,” an event that focuses on raising funds for local public schools. The one day event raised over $42,000. Sarah is also involved in the Miami Young Agents Committee and the FAIA Young Agents Council. She chaired the Miami YAC in 2007-2008 and helped grow the organization to more than 100 members. Sarah currently sits as the Vice President of Community Affairs on the Pinecrest Business Association and on the Board of Directors for Kristi House.
